Learning log week3


Learning log inside classroom

Today, This is my six in curriculum and learning management in English. I have learned about teaching method that my friends presented. They presented about Content - Based Instruction <CBI> Listening teaching, Speaking teaching, Reading teaching, Writing teaching and Teaching vocabulary

        First, Content - Based Instruction <CBI> Teaching emphasize content. The teacher shouldn’t only teach. But the teacher should be practice to students understand to content.  English learning is most effective. Students to use the English language in situations that are consistent with the actual situation to help the students to practice thinking skills and review the learning content.

        Second, Listening teaching, Listening skills are vital for learners. listening is the most skill frequently used. Learners need practice the skills and ability to listen and understand the message has been listening. Teachers should have the knowledge and techniques teaching listening skills. There are three steps for the listening process 1. Pre-listening <give information> 2. While-listening <practice>3. Post-listening <write a summary>

        Third, Speaking teaching, speaking skills in English. Focus on Accuracy, Vocabulary, Grammar, Patterns. Speaking skills training activities has 3 forms 1. Mechanical Drills (Transformation Drill, Yes/No Question-Answer Drill) 2. Meaningful Drills (Make a Sentences of a given image, Speaking about the situation in the classroom.) 3. Communicative Drills (Situation, Imaginary Situation, Describe and Draw)

        Fourth, Reading teaching, Is teaching English reading are two types of Reading aloud and Silent Reading. . Reading aloud technique 1. Basic Steps of Teaching 2. Reading for Fluency 3. Reading and Look up 4. Speed reading 5. Reading for Accuracy, Silent Reading technique has the same characteristics as the listening skills it have 3 forms 1. Pre-Reading (personalization, Predicting) 2. While-Reading (Practice = matching, ordering, completing, correcting, deciding, supplying indentifying) 3. Post-listening (test).

        Fifth, writing teaching, Writing is a communication to others to know by text. Writing skills need to start by creating a system of writing from Controlled Writing to Less Controlled Writing and to Free Writing. Teachers should have the knowledge and techniques teaching Writing skills. Writing skill focus on Fluency, Accuracy, Vocabulary, Grammar, pattern Content. Writing technique has three methods 1. Controlled Writing (Copying, Re-ordering Words, Changing forms of certain words) 2. Less – Controlled Writing (Sentence Combining, Describing, Questions and Answers Composition, Parallel Writing, Dictation) 3. Free Writing (Free write, Idea, Imagination)

        Last, teaching vocabulary. A group of researchers said learning to learn vocabulary from the vocabulary guess from the story. The vocabulary guess it does not make learning real. Teachers have a very important role in order to use the technique in teaching vocabulary to help the students learn vocabulary such as Using games or music and teacher to teach vocabulary for students. And students can memorize.

        In conclusion, Today I have learned 6 teaching method. After my friend presented I understand and know the meaning. It is knowledge that we can apply in writing lesson plans. I think all presentation is good for teacher and students.
